Another drawing of Yandé Codou Sène, the legendary griot (singer) from Sengal (West, Africa). Read more about her and listen to her music in my previous blog post This sketch/drawing was done in 30 minutes (size A5) with pen and chalk pastels.

I love the rhythm and the way they harmonize, I especially love the way the audience can’t sit still and burst into dance. The quality of the video is a bit poor, but I can just imagine what it must be like to sit there and hear this powerful voice live.
