Palm shoot – Day 13
“If the Hour (the day of Resurrection) is about to be established and one of you was holding a palm shoot, let him take advantage of even one second before the Hour is established to plant it.” – Al-Albani.

Finally! I am so happy I finally finished this latest digital drawing. If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know I started a digital drawing challenge, trying to finish 25 drawings in a month, well…it turned out I needed more time, I’ve been on it for about 4 months now and this is drawing no. 13.
I’m mastering this new skill slowly but surely. I love the progress I’ve made so far. For this particular drawing I used an original chalk pastel drawing I made in 2015.

What inspired me to make this drawing is the quote (Hadith) at the start of the blog post, urging us to always keep doing good. To never stop, even when the world around you is crumbling you keep steady and on the straight path. I understand it to say that it is ones intent that counts, not so much the outcome. I’m planting this palm shoot with the intent for a beautiful palm tree to grow from it. The outcome is non of my business really. I work and pray for a good outcome of course, but ultimately I have no control over it. So all I can do is my best and then surrender, let it go…

This was the blogpost for the original chalkpastel drawing ‘Planting Trees’: https://bellaelhasan.wordpress.com/2015/09/19/day-9-planting-trees/

here’s the song I was listening to whilst drawing, London Grammar again, just like when I made the chalk pastel drawing.
Thanks for your time and see you next month 🙂
